Years ago, I got a ticket for a windshield mount that blocked part of my view. Minutes later, a child chased a ball into the street. I saw late, braked hard, and promised myself: legality and sightlines first. Today I measure occlusion before recommending any placement.

I favor low-occlusion placements, stable arms, and mounts that meet hands‑free rules over screen size or novelty.
